Libraries are storage houses for knowledge. The library makes sure that knowledge, information and facts continue to be recorded and saved for future. The existence of a culture and nation depends upon its history recorded in history books kept and preserved in a library. The information kept in library helps people start their own business, which helps the economy grow. Libraries are trained to do high level research, which supports scientists, doctors, lawyers, professors, writers, government offices.
Libraries have actually saved lives by providing information to doctors who were dealing with difficult cases. Only a tiny fraction of information is available free on internet. But all of it is available through library. They are the original and best search engines. Library promote sharing between people rather than owning an individual copy of book. Libraries support lifelong learning for people of all ages. Internet and e-books make libraries unnecessary, but they haven’t made bookstores un-necessary.
