My Dream Library.

A Library should not only have enough space for studying but also should have different genre of books such as Novels, Fiction, Science, Biography, Current affairs-both National and International. There are certain amenities which are a must for the Library such as studious students with no overcrowding, cleanliness, wi-fi-facility, air conditioned both in summers and winters, quiet and peaceful study space, locker-facility for books and accessories, well lit and ventilated, comfortable seating, also it should remain open on public holidays and weekends. The management of the Library must ensure its dynamic website which is regularly upgraded, maintained and updated with latest content, equipped with student registration portal aimed to provide necessary account information such as online fees payment, book issue, due date etc.
. This online web portal should also provide the soft copies of the books available in its hard copy section. It should also have a Librarian with academic, professional and pedagogical educational qualification to help and guide the students. Some of the other essentials for supporting students are printing, photocopy and lamination facility for minimum wastage of their precious time. It should provide students with online and offline newspapers, magazines and journals.
If possible the Library should have a cyber café nearby for easy web access. The Library should be located far away from any construction area with green and peaceful surrounding. A Library can always enhance its performance with inspirational quotes and thoughts. Many a student prefer snacks while studying. So the library should have its own combined eatery and cafeteria with proper seating and food facilities. Although food and snacks itself should be banned in the main study rooms.
Students should have approach to teacher assistance facility in case he doesn’t have grasp upon a topic or have difficulty in understanding a particular subject. It is the task of the librarian to ensure communication between student and the teacher with negotiable online teaching fees accommodated in the library fees payment portal itself. The library web portal should provide with online purchasing and book issue facility relating to technical education by having contacts with technical educational institutions and colleges, so that even the college going students are able to read, purchase and issue curriculum material. The library staff should encourage meritorious students and achievers with free book issues, discount on teaching fees, books as gifts etc. The library can enhance its lucrativeness, popularity and attractivenes with discounts and offers on birthdays, providing Language Learning books, WhatsApp groups providing important updates, offers, newspapers, latest vacancies, forms, admit cards etc. My dream library is equipped with the above facilities!!
